Ciro MacCord (b. 1987) is a Brazilian visual artist based in Diamantina, Minas Gerais. Trained in graphic design, he has developed an independent practice centered on oil painting since 2024. His work engages with experiences that bring us to the limits of signification, where the body, the world, and the possibility of making sense of them fall into discoincidence. Drawing from psychoanalysis, 1980s cinematic body horror, and the anomalies produced by generative AI models, he constructs chimeric figures marked by torsion, ambiguity, and dislocation. His recent work explores biomorphic forms as apparitions of a life that has lost its coordinates. With no previous exhibition history, he now seeks to bring a practice developed in the studio into public view.
